Black rose immortal!

Yeah, that's what I was saying too. :loco:

Language doesn't belong to anyone, incidentally. It's virtually impossible for works using written or spoken language to be 'original', and linguistic meaning is subjectively interpreted and re-interpreted all the time for all things spoken and written, so what's the point in saying who's is who's as concerns understanding of 'meaning' ?

If a writer wanted maximum control of what the audience interprets, they wouldn't write poetic lyrics filled with metaphors, so I doubt Mikael or anyone else really cares!

I dunno about you but I think Black Rose would end better after he says "Black Rose Immortal". 20 mins seems drawn out. It's still my fav opeth song though.

Greatest song...EVER! Period...and not because it is 20 mins. long like many seem to believe most like this song for. It just so happens to have the finest moments Opeth has ever created. IMO, and in many others' as well, I'm sure (but yet, it lost out in the  morningrise song survivor??? Wha??? I seriously thought it was the most liked Opeth song....weird...)

Anyway, my fave parts are the acoustic piece right after the sound of water - oh man, the atmosphere. Just nothing compares to this level of excellence!

The "songbirds" part....that WHOLE acoustic moment is arguably the greatest piece of acoustic music I have heard from Opeth, and anyone else. Magically dark, beautiful...brilliant!

And, my MOST FAVOURITE moment in the song; Lullaby of the crescent moons....I have kept it, the amaranth symbol. He may be screaming and it may be heavy/loud as hell, but man...this shit is POWERFUL beyond words and incredibly emotional. Every tone is hit with such high magnitute, it just never fails to impress.

This is the pinnacle of achievement of Opeth...this what I truly believe. I would die if Opeth (for at least ONE more album), would return to this epic style of emotion.
