Bible study?Famous Amos and I have been reading the Bible over the phone...laughing our asses off the whole time. There was one part where Abram(before he changes his name to Abraham)fells on his face laughing because of something the Lord said to him...which was very similar to what we were doing. We also discovered that Damascus is a location mentioned in the Bible.Glad I don't live there. And we just finished the part about Sodom&Gomorah and Lot and his daughters...that was so fucking wrong,it wasn't even funny.Of course it is kind of funny how that makes the whole religion totally hypocritical. It's also very ironic that "the most important and influencial book of western civilization"(as you put it)is a blatant work of fiction that is passed off as concrete fact...which makes it a total lie.

Okay,I told you,I have been reading the Bible. Most of the Bible thumpers I know(like my mother)haven't even bothered to open the book.I''l give you an example of how that all is fiction-
a giant disembodied voice created the entire Earth and the rest of the universe(though there's no mention of the sun at all)in 7 days.It also created plants, animals and human beings...
Maybe this makes sense to you and most other ppl because this is what you were raised believing in and you never bothered to question things that can't happen.

heres some fiction for you, it has to do with a god

The Bible is a science fiction text. There are various examples. I took a course in reading science fiction in college a few years back and we read the creation story as a science fiction text......awesome

Do you just ignore the parts of my posts where I say that I am in the process of reading the Bible?Maybe by reading this book I will understand the way you think about your god.
Okay, another example of how fictisious the Bible is-
When Lot and his wife and daughters were leaving Sodom,Lot's wife looked back at the burning city and turned into a pillar of salt. That just isn't physically possible...and the angels didn't even tell her not to look back. She just loked behind her and randomly became a pillar of salt.

Come to my house and you can have one of the many Bibles in my mother's possesion. The funny thing is that she admitted to me that she's never read the Bible...I guess she just keeps the books around to keep up appearences that she's a good Catholic...It seems that evey member of my family owns at least 3 Bibles.
by the way, which branch of this religion do you claim to be,Rusted...Catholic,Christian,Lutheran?What's the difference between any of them?

 my dad's side of the family is VERY religious, i REFUSE to have anything to do with them.... they fucking annoy the shit out of me... they have one of them stupid ass "Whomever Enter This Threshold Shall Be Blessed" things over their door.....

Woah,that's creepy...
I called one of my frineds last year and at the end of the message on the answering machine, her mom said something like "...and my God bless you day."Dunno what that was about.'
Hey,where'd Rusted go?I was enjoying the little spat between him,you and I and some others, deadskinmask.I had to get off becasue my brother wanted to call my mother about something.

haha, RIP50, i took plenty of Bible history courses back in the day, haha, even took a course at HS, haha. i think it is cool that you can express your newfound beliefs while disregarding the morons who trash it. . . never thought of you being a big Christian though. where does it say in the Bible that masturbation is wrong? pull me out a passage and i will let you go on THAT one. . . but nowhere in the Book have I found anything that says masturbation is a sin or is wrong. like i said, proove it with words from the text.

i, myself, have taken an OPPOSITE turn on my faith. ever since my experience here at governor's school, i have become an agnostic, whereas i used to be a christian. i guess you could call me a "semi-atheist". if you asked me if i believed in God, i would say "i don't know". i DO agree wih a lot of things that Jesus said, but i also agree with a lot of the practices of anton lavey and wiccanism. i guess you could say that at this point in my life i am "searching" for my beliefs. i question everything. i can follow nothing blindly. reading a bunch of ayn rand's books has also introduced me to my ego, my individualism i never fully capitalized on, and that only furthers my questioning of where i fit in the grand scheme of things. rand's philosophy of objectivism stresses atheism, but i don't totally agree with that. i think people should believe in something, even if it is nihilism, shamanism, etc. ("and i still believe in nothing. . ." hahaha). i'm glad you've found yours, man.
