haha, RIP50, i took plenty of Bible history courses back in the day, haha, even took a course at HS, haha. i think it is cool that you can express your newfound beliefs while disregarding the morons who trash it. . . never thought of you being a big Christian though. where does it say in the Bible that masturbation is wrong? pull me out a passage and i will let you go on THAT one. . . but nowhere in the Book have I found anything that says masturbation is a sin or is wrong. like i said, proove it with words from the text.
*****Ill find it soon. IT says IT IS BETTER TO SPILL YOUR SEED IN THE BELLY OF A WHORE THAN TO SPILL YOUR SEED ON THE GROUND. Hav eyou read about the long hair being wrong for men? I have.******
i, myself, have taken an OPPOSITE turn on my faith. ever since my experience here at governor's school, i have become an agnostic, whereas i used to be a christian. i guess you could call me a "semi-atheist". if you asked me if i believed in God, i would say "i don't know". i DO agree wih a lot of things that Jesus said, but i also agree with a lot of the practices of anton lavey and wiccanism. i guess you could say that at this point in my life i am "searching" for my beliefs. i question everything. i can follow nothing blindly. reading a bunch of ayn rand's books has also introduced me to my ego, my individualism i never fully capitalized on, and that only furthers my questioning of where i fit in the grand scheme of things. rand's philosophy of objectivism stresses atheism, but i don't totally agree with that. i think people should believe in something, even if it is nihilism, shamanism, etc. ("and i still believe in nothing. . ." hahaha). i'm glad you've found yours, man.
******It is cool. I dont care who bashes, if something makes you happy, go for it. The only thing i dont like about some belivers, is when they start getting pissed cause you have other outlooks.********

I suppose there's a lot of stuff that the Bible "leaves out"that the church feels the need to fill in-like all of that stuff about masturbation, homosexuality, lust, adultry, etc. What I've read of the Bible is mostly stories so far,no rules,no morals.I guess all of those commandments come in later w/Moses and that stuff, though. When my siblings and I first started going to Catholic school, they gave our parents(as they gave all parents)these little booklets about sexuality according to the Catholic church.I suppose that was stuff we would've learned about later. But I found that book and read thru it.It had chapters on puberty, drug use, reproduction, etc. And there were entire chapters on what was "wrong"-lust,sodomy,masterbation,abortion,premarital sex, drug use, etc. So it's a fine example of the church attempting to control every aspect of a person's life by keeping them in fear-
Homosexuality is a sin because it is an act that is unnateral and doesn't produce life, therefore it is damnable in the eyes of God"
which means"If you are gay,you will burn in hell."I honestly don't get stuff like that.If you mastubate you go to hell,if you even thikn about sex before you are married, you go to hell, etc. That's so fucked up.

So there are ways of explaining totally impossible things from the Bible as being fact?Or does it all depend on the Bible that one is reading from?

I get what you're saying about how sex can be wrong in the "eyes of god"becasue you could love that more than you love god...kind of how w/the story about the tree of Knowledge or Good&Evil in the Garden of Eden...god forbade Adam and Eve to eat the fruit of that tree because then they'd be as smart as god(or whatever it was that the serpent told Eve).

bible should be individual interpretation, not what the church tells you

but is it a "sin"?
reminds me of an episode of the simpsons where reverend lovejoy is holding the bible up and says "You ever actually read this thing, marge? Technically, we're not even supposed to go to the bathroom."
hahahaha
