BLEAK....indeed

everyone has thier opinion on there fav opeth tracks....fair enough, but ive listened to bleak loads and cant stand this track
alot of people on this forum talk about it alot and list it as one of there fav's but i really cant stand it, i think its steven wilsons vocals that but me right off
even though i love blackfeild and some porcupine tree stuff?
the melody and pace of the track annoy me aswell, its weird cause its the only track of opeths that i have such a bad attitude too?

As with a lot of people on here its one of my favourites. I can't see why anyone would hate that song but like the album, it fits perfectly.

It was the first of 2 songs to get me really into the band, so maybe thats why I like it so much. Its not really a different Opeth song either, like its pretty much got them written all over it. Can't see why anyone who likes them and that album would hate that particular song?

The 2 songs Bleak and Closure got me into Opeth. A weird choice, but my friend's favorites at the time. I still love both of those songs.

There's lots of stuff I love about this track as it might be my favorite overall track by them in terms of what I would just decide I suddenly wanted to hear the most. Great start to finish, but after the first 'chorus' and through to the beginning of the next 'chorus' is some of my fave opeth of any song, and the section right before the second chorus is some of my fave 30 sec. of music ever. Plus the end riff with him screaming "THIS IS ALLLLL YOU NEEDDDDDD!!!!!!" is awesome. Damn I love that song. Maybe I'll put that on when Black Rose Immortal is finished...
