Blind Guardian's U.S. setlist

Jeff: Camera policy is basically decided by the venues, not the band, so check with your local venue. Some places have allowed them and some have not.
Not always. I've been to dozens of shows at B.B. Kings and the policy there is set by the bands and it's the same way at quite a number of other venues I've visited. MoW never allows cameras now they have an exclusive photography deal. At the Nokia Theater, Porcupine Tree only allowed cameras in the second set, since the first was all unreleased material. Some bands request no flash or no digital and so on.

Hopefully, will have some good photos of the NYC show to share.

"Give me your batteries. NOW!" ...... 15 mins later "Here, your batteries back"

For sure!
I hope they won't have that stupid idea of not having a photo pit......

I'd have to say the highlights of the shows on this tour were The Script For My Requiem, Valhalla, Majesty, Fly, Welcome to Dying, Lord of the Rings, and of course, The Bard's Song.

It is the same thing at Jaxx. In fact, they said right on thier website they don't care if you brought a camera in. However, they do say no video allowed at all, so I don't know if that is indeed a venue specific policy, or just that no band ever seems to allow video, so just make it easy and set a blanket policy on it.

Still, good idea to check with both the venue and the band to be sure photography is allowed.

Anyway, I'll be seeing Blind Guardian on the 4th at Jaxx.

Went last night and avoided this thread like the plague beforehand. I have a tendency of not wanting to know exactly what I'll hear. Was really happy to hear ATTWS played. My favourite song of theirs. I always seem to have the favourite songs that bands never play live so was worried they wouldn't.
I would have liked Leaves' Eyes better if it weren't for two things. Their audio sucked. Liv was too low (couldn't hear her talk at all). Bass was too high. Overall sound was really low and muffled. 2nd thing was her husband, Alex, always trying to get the crowd to chant and clap whenever she sang. I'm already barely able to hear her and he wants us to drown out her singing by chanting "hey, hey, hey"?

Also, in regard to merchandise, they also had a baseball tee with a new tribal dragon on the front and Blind Guardian on back for $30 at Mass. Hoodie was $60 at this show and the smallest size was large so I didn't get one.

Probably. They had 3 piles of hoodies and all the merchandise seemed to be divided up in piles by size. If large is smallest, then they likely have XL and XXL as well.
On a side note, they didn't have any large of the "blue" shirt (with the reaper on it). The 2nd person to purchase something was told this so they didn't have any at all. Either something weird happened or they're starting to run low on supplies.

As of two weeks ago, they carried the hoodie in size M (woop!). Usually they don't carry many, though, so they may have sold out for the night by the time you got to the merch table, or they hadn't reached their next shipment drop point yet. Bad luck. It's a great hoodie. Makes up for the last one I had to buy in XXL because they were out of everything else :P

It's probably best they didn't have it in medium. Would have left me with $6 and the parking garage I've used for free every past concert at the Palladium ended up costing me $10 when I left. Went with a small baseball tee instead. Might pick up a hoodie if I can find one somewhere online. It was a nice looking one.

Were $50 in Denver - maybe now that they are getting to the end of the tour they are trying to sell them for higher (rather than lower, doesn make sense does it)?
I was able to grab a grim reaper shirt for $25, liked the hoodies but not a huge fan of having tour dates on the back of a hoodie - so I skipped it.

Any links to pics of this reaper shirt, or is it just the blue tie-dye Forgotten Tales shirt?

I've never fully understand t-shirt price policies. When Nightwish did their full US tour, I saw them at Palladium (first show of the tour) and spent (I believe) $20 on each shirt. 2 nights later, I was at the NYC show and they were up something like 7.50 in price. This time Palladium seems to be the place spiking the prices.

B.B. KIng's always charged more. They insist on a larger percentage of the merch.

Here is BG's setlist from last night's Philly show! What an awesome show...well worth the 2 hr drive!!! We took lots of pics, hopefully they came out OK as we couldn't use flash, and also did a nice interview with Hansi before the show. Pics & Interview should be up on the site within the next few days.
