dunno if you noticed but the drums are midi, you can tell at 7:27
Probably for preproduction, recording over it. Otherwise why would the kit be set up with him playing, and the part of the video labeled as tracking.

One of the band members said over at sevenstring they were micing the drums and were triggering too
strange, never even heard of that studio and it is 5 minutes from my house haha
and did you see how the drummer was hitting? I know I wouldnt use it unless he starting playing right for this genre
Where are you at in Chicago? Maybe it's near me too.
Yeah, I definitely did see he was playing pretty damn soft...
I suppose we won't know till it comes out
I live in Huntley, IL. Used to live in Lake in the Hills, but recently bought a house after getting married and am in Huntley now.

As for the album, it's sounding sick so far. Bass sounded awesome. I disagree about the Michael Keene comment though, I know a lot of people aren't into that mix, but I enjoy it a lot. Especially the older Veil of Maya one.
I've only got All Things Set Aside, but it sounds fucking muddy, and it's just all over the fucking place, which is a shame, because they are one of the few deathcore bands I don't think are complete shit.
There is a type of muddy, sludgy kinda sound, like on the Kyuss records that sounds amazing and suits the music, then there is a type of sludgy, muddy mix that sounds like a total fucking mess and is just the result of being badly mixed and tracked. That is All Things Set Aside.
Cannot fathom how that is "good" sound at all, when a much tighter mix would have made it sound 1000 times heavier.
Planetary Duality, while not the best mix is, is WAY better than that at least and I read he had an incredibly short space of time to mix that in too.
someone find out what the FUCK they are using on the bass.....!!!!
that's the meanest shit i've seriously EVER heard. They better keep it that loud in the mix.

Haha the engineer should tell him to man up
A Higher Place was done by Zuess (which was a huge let down, worst Zuess mix ever)
All Things Set Aside i do believe was self produced by veil of maya
these are the albums Keane did
Veil of maya - The Common Man's Collapse, [id]
Born of osiris - The New Reign
The Faceless - all
i love his mixs there so alive and open sounding i think, especially the faceless ones.
