Boxing

Woohoo! Manny just beat the crap out of the Golden Boy. Unfortunately, it wasn't a KO decision; instead, Oscar gave up at the end of the eighth round. It wasn't the ending we all expected, but Oscar learned firsthand that Manny Pacquiao is definitely a force to be reckoned with.:kickass::kickass::kickass:

Oscar's pocketbook isn't hurting...only his pride...seeing the fight @ least he went over to Manny's corner and congratulated him...

"We knew we had him after the first round. He had no legs, he was hesitant and he was shot." - Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao's trainer

"You're right Freddie. I don't have it anymore." - Oscar De La Hoya

To no surprise, Oscar received a hefty sum - possibly equal or more than Manny, as his company hosted the event. So he really didn't care whether he won or not - he was still gonna get paid big-time, anyway.

And thanks for checking out the Pacquiao/Morales pics. As with many sporting events, watching a boxing match live is a completely different experience from watching it on TV. There were thousands of rabid fans that night waving Philippine and Mexican flags all over. By the third round, the Mexican flags had disappeared from the crowds.

My Wing Chun instructor ordered it, so we'll be watching it at his place. :headbang:

Cool. Like everyone here in the Philippines, I'll be getting up on Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. to watch it on a local channel. There's no doubt that Manny will beat Hatton this weekend. Hatton is tough, but his in-ring strategy is flawed, as seen on his fight with Mayweather. His irregular diet - which includes a pint or two of Guinness on Thursdays and a full English breakfast before fights - may be his achilles heel as well.

Woohoo! Manny just made Hatton kiss the canvas on Round 2 with a left hook right on the jaw. What a devastating finish!:kickass::kickass::kickass:

BTW, Jenna, Hatton likes to play darts. Perhaps you should challenge him for a couple of rounds.

Coming next week on PPV, Manny Pacquiao squares off against defending WBO Welterweight Champion Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico. But you just gotta love the guy, especially his recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.:lol::lol:

How adorable to watch him sing! Oscar De La Hoya sang on tv too and got himself a record deal and released a CD many years ago. (I had to pick it up....lol!!) Also, you know who else sings really well? The Rock! Damn..........*melting* :saint: These athletic types who sing.......*sigh*

Today's fight was more spectacular than Manny's last two fights, as he actually had a worthy opponent. Although Miguel Cotto was bloodied up by the end of the fight, he managed to wear out Manny. Unfortunately, the final round was cut short by the referee, who was concerned about Cotto's bleeding. Still, the fight was well worth watching on the big screen.

BTW, Manny has a movie coming up here in the Philippines.

Man, last night's fight was horrible, as Sissy Shame Mosley spent all 12 rounds running away from Manny. Pretty much everyone at the arena felt ripped off.

On the upside...
