Brutal/Slam Death Metal

I'll say top 5 myself. I haven't heard everything new yet this year. Awaiting the Autopsy, Truculency, and Infinite Defilement are on constant rotation lately though. And of course Devourment when it's released.

I have to admit... Abysmal Torment's latest...bores me.

I wasnt gonna click them, but thanks for confirming V5. :)

Gonna listen to God On Acid tonite... never heard it before.

Well I thought it was a pretty good compilation despite a few bands being goregrind, grind, grindcore style. I actually looked up each band on metal archives and only 10-30% of the selections weren't Brutal Death. Still theres a good listen of bands in the compilations don't be mistaken.

I still dont want to search through a bunch of crap for a band I might like. If you want to suggest or talk about a band... just be specific.

Listening to Gorevent at the moment...10 seconds into the album I knew I'd like it.

Well I know that now. :)

So anyone heard of Repudilation?
I read something about them on a blog....
Repudilation were one of the forefathers of slam death metal along with Devourment, but Repudilation are kinda overlooked. They didn't become as successful as Devourment but they also made some damn good music. The sound ain't very good on the album but it fits the music quite well. The guitars sound muddy and stay in the background, while the drums - which mostly alter between groovy and blast beats - are loud throughout the album, emphasizing the catchy beats' strength. And of course you have the obligatory guttural vocals which also add to the muddy sound. Check this out if you want some 'underground' sounding slam death.
D/l'd their S/T... metal archives has it listed as a comp... but they dont have the tracks accounted for on their other releases..

Anyway... seemed interesting.

Edit: And it sounds pretty good too. Definitely muddy production.. but I'm enjoying it.
