The production has the guitars extremely loud and in your face... the vocals are more in the background. It's nothing fancy... just slam riffing smashing your face to bits.

The production, drum programming and intense lowness of the vocals (probably the best Big C performance) makes me think goregrind/slam on that Malodorous album. They have kind of a weirdly interesting thing going on which is cool. I liked it more than Nick.

The new Pathology is really, really sick. It sounds like a continuation of the stuff Matti and co. were doing in She Lay Gutted; fast, punctuated riffing with his very good vocals, some intense technicality, etc. but at the same time it has the Pathology slamming (which SLG tends to lack, esp. because of the weird production) and even some more interesting breakdown rhythms.

It took me a while to warm up to slam. I have no idea how it happened but one day I just got it.

Favorites at the moment consist of Abysmal Torment, Defeated Sanity, Inherit Disease, Awaiting The Autopsy (new album) and ofcourse the new Devourment which I have been raping in my iTunes as of last night.

I've been meaning to give Infected Disarray a listen, might do that tonight.

Gorevent are amazingly good. At first I just regarded them as the Japanese Abominable Putridity, but...you're right, they're a lot more sickening/perverted/vile sounding, and I love the very ambiguous song titles. Nick and I were discussing this at MDF actually.

I'm going to recommend everyone check out Gutslit.

They're a fairly new band (only a split release so far)

In the three tracks of the split with Pulmonary Fibrosis, two of them are really great, extremely high quality slam. (Boiled in Bile and Catherine Wheel)

Just got Cerebral Incubation-'Asphyxiating On Excrement' earlier today. It's not bad. They definitely don't stand out much (sounding like a culmination of a couple of our favs...) but it's a got a lot of cool slam parts, which is good enough for me.

Also got the new Putrid Pile and Mental Demise. Haven't listened to them though. Will report back.

Mental Demise is not even BDM, they're just regular old fast death metal with some brutal elements. They have some technicality and they are all talented. And boring as fuck imo.

The new Putrid Pile is pretty good. I'm not gonna tout is as the best thing ever, but it's a solid release. 'The Pleasure In Suffering' was much better. It feels they're trying too hard on the newest. It lost it's brutal edge a bit too.
