hey guys, im wanting to buy a guitar amp, i dont need it really for gigging as my main instrument is bass, i just need a good but cheap amp for getting a good guitar sound on recordings, i use amp sims at the moment but they lack something that an amp recording has, i can never get my amp sim recordings to sit right in a mix, so any recommendations from you guys? my budget is around £250 ($500). cheers.

Line 6 Spider's are pretty good for the price, they have some good sounds. For £250 you might be able to get a Marshall combo, the AVT range are 'ok'. An all valve combo would be better though, check out Ebay.
