Damn, this song is full of elements that have not manifested themselves on previous Opeth albums...the supremely evil sounding watery growl, the acoustic interlude with the organ sound (I think) that could have been lifted from a Camel or early Genesis album, the part with the growls and guitars trading off one another, and the vocal montage outro. All add up to an awesome song.

I also can't get enough of those tremolo guitars on A Fair Judgement...

'They know nothing of us.... but we always knew... that nooooothing eeeeeever chaaaaaangeees'. Yeah carnival music rules :)

A Fair Judgement owns me however. Have you people noticed that its the only 'heavy' Opeth song without growls?

That vocal outro is TRIPPPY.. Hope we get some nifty shit like that on Damnation!

I also love around 3:00 when it goes all lo-fi, then phases into this amazing double-bass riff.. yaaar, I think I stopped walking for a minute when I first heard it. I'm sure everybody was looking at me.. It's worth it!

It's like a waltz! one two three, one two three, one two three.... it's cool how it's preceded by a minute and a half of the same time signature. You almost don't notice it until the keyboard part. I like this song. On the rare occasions that opeth experiment, they do it tastefully.
