No, but the words he chooses reflect who he is, how he talks, etc. He's not writing a novel which needs perfect grammer. Lyrics are a personal expression is what Im getting at.
lol...Yeah but he's not purposely using incorrect grammar to express himself. I agree with you that music is not in need of perfect grammar and should just be what the artist is trying to express, but you can't say that's not just an honest mistake by a guy writing lyrics in his second language.
I agree. But being an honest mistake doesnt take away from the fact that it's the way Mike expresses himself. If Mike got someone to proof read all his lyrics, then it wouldnt really be him anymore, would it? I dont see why there has to be such a fuss over something which still makes sense in context.
Haha. If that were the case, we'd all be admiring how great his grammar is. There isn't much of a fuss on the subject; the is the first thread I've seen that takes issue with Mike's grammar (which is quite good). I was just saying that deliberate misuse of verb tense in order to better convey mood (which I thought was your argument at first) was a ridiculous notion. I agree; the small mistakes here and there don't take anything away from the lyrics, ultimately.
Yeah... it's a good thing people don't use words like "Ain't" in song lyrics....
i ain't findin' that endeeiring
