Since I got a nice bit of feed back on my last bass post. I wanted to know, I need a good big bass amp and have about a grand to waste, now I usually play Opeth and funky sorta stuff along with some prog rock so I think I want a good versatile amp but I've tried a few but I really dunno what to get cos all of them have their own good aspects so your feed back would be appreciated

Hey I play bass also and have a great rig, I play SWR heads and Ampeg cabs, but other than Ampeg I would recommend Mesa Boogie. I play everything from classical peices(bach cello suites) to Opeth and other great death metal bands. Including my own "Opiate" SWR heads are very flexible But i prefer a jazzy tone, to each his own, If i were you Id get Mesa Boogie cabinet and Swr heads, but remember tone is your hands, strings and pickups, not so much the amp.
