car broke down last night, was towed; fixable?

I initiated a query to donate my old wreck to some organization. It's been sitting in a dealership's lot since the tranny let go 250 miles away after a trip to New Jersey. They sort of haven't noticed yet but when they do, it is so going to suck for me.

Alex, you are bad luck. I thought I blew my transmission this morning. Fortunatly it appears it is ok, either my tran-oil pan or a transmission seal blew. Instead of a grand or so it looks like it is going to cost 150-200...

In the meantime I am home without a vehicle :(

Going to pick up the bike tomorrow morning though :)

i would prefer a bike to a car x10000.

incidentally, i was told a clutch was about $900, not the 200 or so we've been kicking around here. my father called several mechanics, including his trusted usual one, and they said that 900 was about right. wtg.

depends what part of the clutch is bad (plates or the whole assembly)
I would say find tranny in a junkyard... amazing what you find there (Porsche 928 as a project car for my brother and a friend...free)
I'm too late though, so ignore me :)

man, mindspell, you better hope that i never get my nutsack caught in industrial machinery or anything.
