Chango Drum Attempt

Hello fellow Home Producers

I know a lot of people hate the sound of chango's samples because they sound too fake or whatever, but in time i have grown to really dig the sound. So I took my favorite samples and started layering them together to get one megakick that i love, and 1 snare that is well... on its way to the sound i want.

So im curious about what you guys think! P.S. the vocals arent finished so there are random instrumental spots.

Don't think it sounds particularly like chango tbh, at least not the snare. I think it sounds good though, what samples did you use?

For the kick I used joey's blood kick, several samples from the one shot death kicks pack, and I can't think of the name of it but there was a kick I grabbed from erkan's organized samples.
The snare: blood snare, again several from the one shot death snares, sneap snare 1&3, and the paramore snare haha.

The real trick with the kick though was the compression. I got it slamming really good, put an eq on it and I was done. I'm going to work on the snare though.

I really like your sound in that clip though man. It sounds a lot like chango. And the bass is gnarly as fuck

Yeah I completely agree. The mix sucks haha but I was just playing with the drums in this

Get more mids into the drums, and get that snappy compression/limiting out of them. Playing with verbs will also help you get there.
