"CHARACTER" track listing & cover

maybe the grey could be how the city was seen from afar some time in the (recent) past, and then the person gets closer, under the building, and there's colour since it's the present?

edit: it also looks to me like the red building and the almost-transparent building on the left are one and the same.
I'm under the same impression: it is the same building, from afar on the left and from directly below on the right.

Schwedentod: Could be, but I find that a little far-fetched. Then again, looking for far-fetched things might be the clue here...

Violet: I like the Akira-comparison - I definitely get the same feeling from the coverart and the manga. But for me that is entirely positive for sure.

yeah it has a little science-fiction.manga style. this giant future cities orcanic and technologybased buldings breeding around the planet.
does anyone knows the mangaseries Blame!it plays just inside a megastructure around the whole earth.
the red vessel on the right is like the beginning of the alienseries when the giant spaceships passes...
really great cover, I hope niklas will open cabinfevermedia.com as soon a spossible and offer us new stuff to order

I don't think anyone's pointed this out, but in the spirit of remixes, could "Out of Nothing" be a version of "Ex Nihilo", but with vox? Just a thought, comparing the names of the songs...

And I'm greatly greatly greatly excited by the whole thing. I think I'll dance now. Or finish my paper.

Wow - great to see that the cover preview got your imaginations going!

I think that the whole basic concept and how it relates to he music/lyrics will be much more clear when you get the real album and can view the details a bit closer, but some of the comments aren't a million miles away from what was intended.

Of course!
I knew it was a character with a weapon

On the century media site..it says that derivation tnb is a unreleased song..so that would mean it isint the opening track of character
1. Lost To Apathy (4:37) [album version, taken from the forthcoming Character ]
2. Derivation TNB (3:25) [previously unreleased, exclusive non-album track]
3. The Endless Feed [Chaos Seed Remix] (3:56)
4. UnDo Control [Live] (5:25]

09. AM I 1?
Most computers can't handle filenames with question mark in them. Wouldn't it be funny have an album full of songtitles filled with question marks and other strange characters just to screw around with the piraters? :D

@Villain: In IT, a Charcter is a single letter or number... It may refer to singularity, maybe in human minds?!?
Just a thought which raised in my struggled mind. :)
when i read that i immediately thought of "Am I 1?".

Niklas why don't you reveal the real meaning of your coverart? :Spin:
or maybe will you do that after the whole album is out? :)

come on, let's at least wait until the album is out and you have seen the whole package. then i might be persuaded to write a line or two about what i had in mind - but doing so now would be pretty pointless.

nope, sworn to secrecy.
you, and whoever swore you and others to secrecy, are mean :p

The only thing that gets me about art is the ambiguity, its ok when you can make your own reading of it because the art becomes interactive, but it's hell when it seems so profound and you cant make anything of it what so ever.

yep actually you're right, but i guess we're all really curious now! ;)

i totally agree :) but then sometimes there's a very big dualism into it: if i like art cos it gives me emotion(s) (as it is for me) then why i'm always interested in the artist's point of view? :err:
