Charlie and Scott want to close the NFMB

During the chat last night I said that this board should be closed down. A few posters agreed with me. Scott made a comment about it but it sounded sarcastic, who knows?
Charlie, meanwhile, said absolutely nothing about closing the board.
Don't believe what you read on the internet, people.
Maybe instead of closing this board, we can just change the name.
Instead of The Anthrax NFMB, let's call it:
The Anthrax Bashing Club For Crybabies.
I'm not sure when the membership for this messageboard expires this year, but I pray that they don't renew it.

DD, you can't kill what doesn't die. A Last Word thread is already going strong in the RBC forum in case this one ever gets closed, but it would be a shame to lose the history, tradition, and nearly 18000 posts of sheer gibberish from that thread.
I've posted that in the CDC board. "I wish we could close the NFMB but somehow leave the Last Word Thread going."
That's still the ONLY thread worth reading in this shit throwing board.

If you don't like it don't post, but don't come here acting like you shit french vanilla ice cream.

It's incredibly sad to see all of this go on. I love Anthrax, I love this board...

Maybe, just MAYBE, close it until everyone knows what happened. Like the entire Megadeth-thing: Megadeth disbanded and when the band got together, or should I say, Dave got things straight, the board came back.

I think Scott, Charlie, and the rest of the gang, old and new, need to sit down in a room without the lawyers (Not to imply anything, but I'm dealing with lawyers, and I hate them!) and talk this out. No one wants to see this band come apart, and no one wants to see the E-Drama or Band-Drama.

This is all just me, and it's not going to end until ANTHRAX decides to end it. They can silence people on this board, but that's it. Every other forum on the internet will still discuss this. This is a really small community, too. I think there's only 30+ members who really even post here! It seems just silly to shut it down.

Again, my 2-cents.

I meant to say "In the chat Thursday night." Not last night.

You're right. I actually shit Rocky Road.
Dang, my signature reminds me that I've been gone since around Thanksgiving:

We all know they look and post here, but now they want to change it so we actually have to give up some cash just to look at a board similar to this one??

They look here but don't post here anymore.
Honestly, I don't see any sence of possible closing this board. If someone thinks it will prevent from spreading rumors, speculations and band bashing, he/she is wrong. There are still other free boards and forums where people can say whatever they want about Anthrax.

I think it's possible, if there's another UM board that would accept. I've seen other threads moved to more "appropriate" boards if the topic is misplaced.

Maybe Billy's board would take it

I know that I've only posted here a couple of times, so my opinion may not be valued like most of you who have been here a long time and have amassed many posts.

However, I don't see the sense in making Anthrax fans (the ones like myself who find it rediculous to have to pay to post on an "official" message board, KISS doesn't even do that) suffer because Anthrax (Charlie and Scott) cannot conduct their band business in a professional manner.

I know Anthrax is not "my" band, but anyone with a brain and a decent understanding of business can see that the way things are going down is not the right way to do it, no matter who's side you're on.

Firing your singer (and apparently leaving your guitar player, Danny, in the lurch) through an internet blog (on "Blabbermouth") and having a little 'secret squirrel' internet chat (CDC) whining about it, is not only as tacky as you can get, but wreaks amateur. I mean, this is something I'd expect to read from some indie band on the Metal Sludge gossip board, but not from Anthrax.

It seems every move Scott and Charlie is making these days is not only hurting the band and the fans, but really tarnishing the legacy of a once great band named Anthrax.

Agreed!

Thanks for helping to confirm the validity of my statement.
So you started it and Scott made a statement in agreement with it.:p 2007-02-01 19:12:17,798 - SCOTTIAN says: So let's delete the board.
Maybe Charlie didn't comment, I thought he did. I was going from memory. :Smokin: I didn't have the transcript.
Since they freaked and sent you to delete the part of the chat I posted, I'm suprised you didn't deny it altogether.
Don't believe what you read on the internet, people.
Yeah only believe what ThraxDude tells ya!

:waah: I agree.... Whenever something happens all the asshole come outof hiding and trash everyone. Yes it was the posters NOT SCOTT OR CHARLIE..........

Asshole!

That's just fucking INSULTING:Puke: . I'm sorry but the money they make off of the "CDC" probably isn't shit. Therefore I see no reason to take away a "FREE" message board that provides direct contact with the band. We all know they look and post here, but now they want to change it so we actually have to give up some cash just to look at a board similar to this one?? I hate to say it...and I've been battling my own opinion in my mind, but I'm really starting to get a very NEGATIVE opinion of Anthrax and their "ways". The fact that the band is trying to make money in every way possible is pathetic. This band is seeming to be more and more just about themselves anymore. Did they forget that without our support they wouldn't be shit? I mean, they didn't go out and buy all of their own albums to make a buck...WE DID!!!!!! They can thank US..you and I, for all their success. I'm sorry, but some things in life are considered petty...and Anthrax is starting to get pretty damn petty.
very well said

I just read the portion of the transcript from the CDC chat - and both Charlie and Scott DO seem to think that closing the board is a good idea. Whether it was meant flippantly or not - well, when all you have are words typed on a screen, it's hard to understand their true meaning.

I've held my tongue on this, but now I'm angry. Chances are I'm gonna get deleted, but I've got to say what's on my mind while we all still can.

ThraxDude: If you hate the NFMB so much, then quit as a moderator. Compared to some other message boards I've been on over the years, this one is fairly behaved, with only the occasional troll. So some people dare to say negative things about Anthrax. So what? That's called their "opinion". Doesn't mean they're right or wrong, it's just what they feel. I, for one, would think it would be an honor to be able to interact with both Anthrax and the fans at the level you are at.

I highly doubt that Scott or Charlie will read this, but I'll direct these comments to them anyway: Okay, so maybe those of us who are on this board aren't as "hard-core" of fans as those who pay money to the CDC. We're still people who have followed your band for some two decades, and have been behind you through all the highs and lows. Our opinions - positive or negative - are just as valid as those who pay for the privilege of being members of the CDC.

I have not said a negative word about Anthrax since I started posting here, but when I read that Charlie called some of the posters here "fucking babies" - dude, grow a set already. Not everyone is going to agree with all the moves that Anthrax makes, and putting a board like this up in cyberspace opens the door for people to make their feelings known. (Previously, all you'd have to put up with were the rock critics - of which I've been one for 21 years.) You don't like what people are saying? Don't read it. Simple as that. (And, maybe I'm blind, but I don't ever remember Charlie making any posts on this board for as long as I've been a member. If I'm wrong, correct me.)

I would sincerely hope that the NFMB will remain open, because I've had the chance to interact with a lot of cool people - karrokid, Rem, T_man, thraxx, Whiplash402, gregadeth, nafnikufesin, and so many others whose names I can't recall right now. (No slight meant if I forgot you.) And, frankly, I would miss those interactions, 'cause if this board closes, I'm out, pure and simple.

But if NFMB closes down and leaves the sanitized CDC forum as all that's left, then Anthrax is no better than Prince, who threatened most of the fansites with lawsuits back around 1998 in order to assure that his pay-site was the sole source for information about Prince and his music. I lost all respect for Prince when that happened, and I would probably lose a lot of respect for Anthrax if this board closed for the same reasons.

That's exactly how I feel about our board's present situation - never mind the future of Anthrax. So long as the NFMB remains a place for us to gather and talk about a band that's been so important in our lives, I'm more than willing to give Scott and Charlie the benefit of the doubt and see which direction they plan on leading the band in 2007.

And, with all respect to gregadeth, I am going to have the balls to sign my name to this.
