I'm in the process of recording & mixing a album for an Icelandic band called Gone Postal. Their material is really promising considering these guys are only 17-18 years old!

I allowed them to put one unmastered song on their myspace ("defiant creation"):

I recorded it using a Firestudio, mostly SM57's. All drums are replaced (feel free to bash me for that) using sneaps kick & snare and the chimaira tom samples.. Guitars are Peavey Triple X with Tubescreamer.

btw, I'm a total noob and this is my first ever recording for another band...

Who fucking cares about drum replacement when it sounds this good. :kickass:

What cymbols did you record with? I'm really digging how they are dark but still upfront and not ear piercing.

Personally the only thing I would do is Eq some of the click out of the kick, it becomes too clicky during the blast beats.

:headbang:

thanks alot for the kind comments! I will certainly check out EQ-ing the kick some more .. also think that the snare sounds a bit artificial during the blastbeats so I might make the snare a tad lower on those parts.
