Check this (re)mix I'm doing

The song kicks ass! What's the bands name?

Vocals seem a bit loud in the mix and might need a bit more compression especially on the clean parts. Also, bring the guitar levels up. I feel like I was straining to hear what the guitars are doing. Awesome job so far though!

I've listened it in my car and in another system...
My opinion is:

Guitars up a bit
Bass and Ohs down a bit
It seems too much "closed"...

What do you think?

Good stuff:headbang:
Ok,to me Bdr (the sample repeats itself and it gets abvious-ass small amounth of mono chorus or ???) and Cimbs are maybe too much but U never know what the mastering will do?Add some reverb, let it flow and try to blend the instruments together.Got some freques on the cinz had no analyzer to watch it but I suggest you to play with the 2-3,5 range.Anyway, smethimes it does the trick-find somewhere the DiscoDSP ThrillMe plugin,it kicks ass.It is good for a preview of mastering,or you can even do the mastering with it youself.Just play with it and you will se.It brings out those shitty freques and you'll be eable to clear out your mix in a sec. Also,Try the vocals to make more tighter and polished,do enything that comes to mind that will help to make the mix jummi ;-) maybe after aplying the master the vocals wont need any work??? No strict rules-you know that too.:kickass: Anyway, this is a badass stuff,Great work!

i think it sounds awsome, one thing that is bugging me is the guitars. the tone sounds wicked, but are they impulses? they sound really thin as if they lack real speaker excursion, mic'ing then up and recording in a nice room will defo make the whole mix sound more dynamic and '3d'

hope this helps

Yes they are impulses....in the original mix the speaker simulation was done by revalver2...so I tried impulses and they sound way better...but not real of course

Hey, I'm listening on shitty earbuds at work, but I think it sounds really good! I'm not sure what you mean by closed... it sounds plenty big to me, but still in-your-face. The mix suits the song really well... and I think the guitar tone fits the song, too. The drums sound fantastic. I'll check it out again when I'm using a better playback system.

Sounds good to my ears.

What did you use on vocals to get that overdriven sound? Yours sounds real good and i tried this for a band once and I could not get it to sound very well.

The vocals was done by the guy who records them...anyway he used vocal design and a plug from Antares...he did a very good work.
This is the original mix of the song http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=501874&songID=6635481

Drums was recorded with a v-drum and soundreplaced with BFD and Guitars are Brave amps with Revalver II as speaker emulation.
I don't like this mix at all and I don't like the sound of drums (fake as hell) and guitars (fake as hell). I suggested them to re-record Drums and guitars with me, using real drums and real cabs....but they don't want because they like the sound of the original mix........The problem is that they'll send this album version to a very famous (secret) guy in the USA for the master....but I think this product actually is not a pro work.
I don't understand how these guys think....
