Has anyone read Chick Benanti's letter on KNAC.COM? Like most of the socialists on the left, he blames everything on Bush. This is why the left is failing. They want the gov't to take care of everything for them, relieving them of any responsibility for themselves. A week before the hurricane hit, there were EMPTY buses leaving New Orleans. Why were they empty? Because people chose not to get on them. If they chose not to get on them, they are to blame, not the president. We are not a Federalist state. The gov't cannot arbitrarily come into your state with troops unless they are called upon by the Governor. Each state's Governor has a hotline to the White House. At any time, they could have asked for and received federal aid. A bill was signed by Bush 2 days before the disaster.
Look at the way Pataki and Juliani handled the 9/11 tragedy. They handled a tragedy they had no warning of with grace and honor. Ray Nagin and Kathleen Blanco had weeks to prepare and still the only thing they could muster up were accusations and soiled underpants.
I am sure you can lay some blame on Bush. Before you do that, do some research. Repeating what you hear from hacks like Benanti does not make you informed, it makes you a follower. Nagin, Blanco and FEMA dropped the ball. The only thing Bush is remotely guilty of is giving them enough rope to hang themselves.
Blaming Bush for the tragedy in New Orleans makes about as much sense as Rosie O'donnel blaming her spoon for her being fat.
