Chris Lucas - Thrash Metal - Thrash 'n' Burn (Multis + Walkthru, you know the drill_

Cheers for uploading.

Didn't have time to do anything other than re-amps and very rough mix.

Here are Mesa MK4 re-amps for left, right, centre guitars if anyone wants to use them.

I know it's a rough mix but I'll throw you some criticism anyways :D. I like the overall feel of the mix, I just feel like the bass and guitar could gel better, and the vocals need to be squashed a lot more. The drums are nice though :pPPPPPPPPPP

Guitar tone is a bit fizzy too.

yea you can see the tempo in the video

sick awesome song guys

I like this mix too, although the guitars could be a more forward and agressive. The vocals sound like they're pretty far back too. I think the bass may be to distorted or something, or needs more control in the low end. I think I hear it pushing the rest of the mix around in a weird way. Thanks for mixing our stuff, glad you liked it :D.

The main thing holding this mix back is the bass tone. It's really farty. Check out Ermz guide on mixing bass for some pointers and it will improve your mixing a fuck ton. Currently the bass sounds like a guitar DI almost and it makes the mix seem really tame. The guitar tone is kinda 2d and in the back. The vocals could be crushed a lot more and balanced better imo. Thanks for mixing it!

Thanks for sharing. I wish I had more time to play with this. I do love me some thrash! Here's what I was able to come up with:

I tried to go for something a little on the raw side.

I kinda like the ridiculous sound you went for, I mean the snare verb and everything is way overbearing imo but it sounds kinda cool :D. What are you monitoring on? I feel like if the frequency base of the mix was more even this could be a really solid mix. The guitar tone is just so narrow and fizzy that it makes the mix seem really thin. Glad you liked the song though, thanks so much for mixing it! I do like the kick btw, not a lot of high end but still pushes hard :D.

Cool song man and thanks for the tracks! It was fun to mix.

I like that everything in this mix has a similar vibe. It sounds totally different than my mix but it all seems to fit. The main distracting thing to me is the weird verb on the hats or just the cymbals in general. It makes a lot of high end buildup that sounds weird. Im glad you had fun mixing it, we sure did too :D!

Awesome song as always. Tried a couple new things this time round, think it came out pretty cool!

I fucking dig how loud the bass is in this mix haha. Pretty controlled low end too, not as floppy as some. I feel like if you just brighten up a few things like the vox and guitar tone, as well as do some more balancing via both faders and EQ this could be a pretty slammin mix. Drums feel a little weak, maybe you should try some different compression stuff on the snare especially. Thanks so much for trying out our stuff! We appreciate it very much!

LONG LIVE THE OLD SCHOOL!

I grew up on this kind of stuff, made my morning!!

Glad to hear it :headbang::headbang::headbang:

DAmm...fuck...hell yea....rock and roll.... i loved it....some nice annihilator influenses too......

It rocked..

Hey guys,

I was home this weekend so I was able to mix this, and had a lot of fun! :)

Chris- sounds great- thanks for this.

D.I. tone is great, very bright, playing super tight.
This might have been covered in your video and I missed it:
What strings are used on your explorer?

Yo I fuckin dig this mix. That guitar tone is so tight holy shit, it really accentuates how tight the playing is. Drums seem a little flat and far back but I love the guitars. Overall vibe is spot on though imo.

That guitar tone is cool with how it fits in the mix. The snare drum is a little hyped in the high end and it gets fatiguing to my ears. The drums have plenty of high end but not enough body and low end imo, but the mix is balanced well. Maybe a little more stuff on the gang vox but now i'm being picky :p. Thanks for mixing it!

Hey guys I noticed that I've used to much treble for the guitars, I've uploaded a new mix with a more balanced eq.

Let me know what you think of it :)

That's a real good song/recording. I wish I had time to mix it!

I have to cut it, since I don't get the DI's were incomplete or something, well here's my take thanks for this fun song and great practice

Guitar layers make each other pump really hard, plus I feel like the vocals are a bit buried. Cymbals are crazy mechanical but that's probably just whatever drum VI you're using. Better than the previous mix for sure though :D

Guitars just need to sit better in the mix with the vox and drums.
THIS PLANE WILL NOT FLY!!!!

Tune is an absolute rip and a blast to work on. Thank you so much Chris and company!

The low end in this one gets kinda saggy during palm mutes, are you using much multiband on the guitars or bass? Some balance issues like the ride being much too quiet imo, but overall it's got a cool old school vibe. Thx for mixing it :D

Just made some really cool reamps with my white JCM800 cabinet. Who want them?

EDIT: In the mix without EQ:

That guitar tone is really cool, I wish there was a little less mids in bass, I feel like there's a bit too much buildup in the lows/low mids. Sick mix tho :D

Is there bass in this? Try and make sure your clock source is all correct, I heard some weird popping and stuff that sounded like clocking errors at the start.
