Classics Reborn

For sure, in fact as big as RIP was I do kind of get a bit sick of it these days. Not to the point of disliking it but I get about half way through and start thinking about the next album. It happens a little with KIMB, but never with Peace Sells or So Far.

They should re-release I'm The Man, the world needs a remastered, re-engineered, remade, resomething'd version of that annoying song.
I always liked the cover of SOE.

It's the first Anthrax I bought, but not the first I heard. It's got some really good songs on it and I wish they could find some of that SOE spark again.

I never really followed the Spitz/Anthrax split that closely so I never really formed an opinion of either side. But on paper I do tend to agree, they wrote some good stuff when Danny was in the band and they've written some really average stuff since. It can't all be down to Danny but he is a common connection.

According to wiki Danny had a hand in writing on every album up to POT, then he wrote nothing on SOWN which is where they obviously turned into something else. As much as I like SOWN it's hard to not consider that Danny wasn't an important part of that original sound given that the first album he is not credited as a writer on is the change point of the band, or the point many claim is where Anthrax lost their way.

Yeah I read that he said he just wasn't into the change. That it just wasn't the same for him anymore.

Pretty awesome! This was the first one I bought as well but not the first I'd heard. Still have two of the cassettes :).

Yeah I unfortunately don't see Spitz coming back. But it'd be cool.

I was wondering what Spitz was doing so I had a look and obviously I've got a bad memory or I've never looked him up before. I couldn't make up my mind what he looked like in this picture wiki has for him, then when I read he's a watchmaker it all fitted together :)

Wiki is very polite and doesn't mention why, just that he left to become a Swiss watchmaker...and apparently succeeded.
Oh yeah he's no joke. He does really high end stuff and is qualified to repair things that a lot of people aren't. I didn't know he'd gone back to it. the last news I read was him and Dean Castro..something starting a band. and hyped it up and then just nothing.

Deen Castronovo apparently. At the same time Danny's wiki reports him starting a christian band with Deen, Deen started in the Dead Daises but his page doesn't list anything with Spitz.

Apparently as well as his degrees (from multiple countries) in watch fixery Spitz also suffered a massive heart attack which required a triple bypass in 2009

Yeah crazy I was really surprised to learn that. He's been in really good shape most of his life. At least on the outside.
Weird abut their project. They hyped the shit out of it and then poof.

Maybe it's the stress of all those degrees and working with such small things. I gotta say when I'm doing electronics, or playing with components I get stressed and frustrated sometimes. I used to think working on cars was hard because the people who built them must have had smaller hands than me, but in electronics you can't even get your hands in there.

When it comes to watches you can't even hit them with a hammer to make them work better. it must be so frustrating :)
