Classics Reborn

Nice! Well. Zakk Sabbath anyway. Don't know the others.

They are pretty much doom bands/musos who at one point or another sounded like Black Sabbath. I don't know them all very well but Haunt pop up occasionally on the news sites and The Obsessed are one of those bands that have had a number of hiatus' over the years but they are mainly known for being the band led by Scott "Wino" Weinrich who has had quite a few good bands over his years.

Interestingly enough this album was announced quite a while ago as a tribute to BS on whatever anniversary it is, but just after the announcement Zakk also made they announcement that Zakk Sabbath would release either the first 4 or all the Ozzy era Sabbath albums as a tribute but they would use all the same technology that BS had available to them in the 70's. They released Vertigo a few months back which was part 1 of the project, but the full albums are apparently still coming.

Yeah ok, Scott Wino Weinrich does sound familiar. I remember being pissed because Zakk did something Black Sabbath like what you're talking about and I couldn't get it because you had be a member? or done some special pre order?

I think originally Zakk Sabbath did do some special pre-orders when they were just a touring band. It might have been live recordings, or it might have been just a bunch or random recordings, I don't fully remember. The idea to actually record Sabbath only came about (or was made public) last year to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the first BS album.

The name Tony Reed comes to mind he’s a big Multi instrumentalist who was supposed to put out some type of Necromandus tribute years ago.

At least they appear to be enjoying themselves :)

Reading the bootleg forum yesterday I was reminded of Sebbie's band prior to SR, MadamX. Although he wasn't in the band at the time they released one song which I remember well and that was You're High In Highschool. It's hard to believe that song is more than 35 years old now.

It's not like I will see it, Sebbie wont ever tour Australia again. He'd be too embarrassed to show up for shows in actual venues, with actual people, after Skid Row's last tour saw them playing free in a pizza shop.
