Classics Reborn

Haha, and then the gorilla comes out!!
I was playing a game as I watched that and I looked away, then looked up and saw a gorilla, thought WFT? Figured that was just Devy being Devy, then I looked down and back up again and there was a fucking Elephant coming on stage. Then to make matters even stranger he tries to keep the elephant on stage and sticks his finger up it's bum as it walks off!!

As good as the Bloodstock gig was and as much as I like Devy, I'm glad he streamed his latest two albums. I know he's said he can't go back to the SYL days because of the mindset and how damaging it was to him, but if he keeps releasing this ambient noise stuff I'm going to end up in the same fucking mindset.

I was familiar with SYL album from 2003 when I got the opportunity to see a show that featured Vader, SYL(Doing a one off guest spot I think) and fucking Kreator around 2004, maybe early 2005. I was there to see Vader because I was really into them and got introduced to Kreator that night!:kickass: Devin was still rocking the Skullet at the time and he came out and was unhinged....put on a great show but he looked and acted like they had just released him from his strait jacket in the asylum.

Yeah he's on record many a time saying those times during SYL are times he can't revisit for the sake of his own mental health. It really is a pity we only get snippets of SYL but I totally understand why he doesn't want to do it. He is a brilliant musician and he's made such a wide range of music that he does get a pass for me for most things. But this ambient stuff might well be in his wheelhouse at the moment it's just not in mine. His iso gigs were so much better than the latest two albums.
