Classics Reborn

Saw this on Bravewords this morning. The singer looks like his misses holding onto a real microphone but watching the clip has compelled me to get the rest of Racer X out of the cabinet and have a listen.

Mr Big does not allow space to be taken up on stage by any ego but his own.
However neither of the live albums released after Superheroes or the last three studio albums list a second guitarist and it appears they toured as a four piece.

I got Street Lethal on LP not long after it came out but then I just forgot about them until about 10 years ago when I went stupid on Amazon and bought the entire disco in one hit.

Yeah it's fun getting a box full of one band, but you gotta pick your band because you could send yourself broke buying some band discos :)

Yeah that's true, Death tops out at seven discs. If I had to buy all of Maiden it'd be trouble lol

Funny to think of this as classic Priest now. You know honestly I didn't care much about them but when Painkiller came out I was blown away and really impressed at how the guitar player ( that I know is Glenn ) really stepped up his game. That is a perfect solo to me. And man those drums rock.

Yeah Painkiller really has stood the test of time, many said it was a going to be a classic when it was released and the proof is there today. Many people still refer to it when they talk about "best metal albums."

I remember listening to JP before Painkiller but it was mostly singles. It was somewhere just after Painkiller that I really delved into the back catalogue and had to start buying all their albums, then when Rob left I didn't like them much.

Same thing happened for me with DIO. Until I heard Inferno Last In Live I'd really only heard his Sabbath stuff and the main singles of his solo stuff. Once I heard Inferno I just had to get into the back catalogue all the way back to Elf and one of the Elves singles.

Did Rob leave after Painkiller to start Fight? Because as much as I loved the Painkiller album I didn't keep up after and I can't remember why.

I was getting into Dio's catalog when I was a young teenager I had the Columbia house tape thing lol I had always loved Holy Diver and Rainbow In The Dark. But Columbia House only had his new one Lock up The Wolves and they hyped up the wunderkind guitar player and I wasn't impressed with him or the album. So I didn't ever get that Dio collection going. I may try it again lol

Yeah was after Painkiller and I think they did two albums with Tom Owens. I didn't particularly like them and then Rob did two more I wasn't a huge fan of before their last album Redeemer Of Souls which I thought was ok but not as good as their earlier stuff. However I liked Fight and lesser so the stuff released under the Halford name.

I knew the songs like Holy Diver and I had maybe six or seven compilation albums that had different Dio songs on them but I think I was deeper into other bands at the time so he was kind of there and I knew who he was but didn't appreciate what he did.

I liked a bunch of Fight. I thought it was cool that both Dickinson and Halford's solo bands were heavier. It would have been very easy for them to go the other way.

I felt the same way about Dio.

I liked the song Dickinson and Halford did together. I got Tattooed Millionaire when it came out but Bruce was well back in Maiden before I bought any of his other solo albums for some reason.
