Classics Reborn

Seems like maybe there was a reason KK just expected to be invited back into the band.

It's a hell of a fire sale to sell the only thing that makes money to pay off something that didn't. Rules in the UK (or wherever he resides now) may be different to here and going bankrupt might require him to sell everything, but it's still gotta be hard to sell off something like the rights to what he wrote.

Speaking of Priest it's 30 years since Ram it Down was released. That was a classic album, now you can own the rights to some of the songs!!

Also Paul Dianno's 60th. I'd wish him happy birthday but I think he's a douche :)

Yeah it definitely seems like an odd way to go about getting money. I'd have thought a smart bloke would have set up his businesses so that if one went broke the others were not effected, but it seems not.

That’s just crazy! How the mighty have fallen!!!

Seems like he hasn't fallen all the way yet.

I would think a lawyer or someone would have kept this separate. That he bought out his partners after they saw it was gonna fail was a baaaad move.

Yeah I would think so too. But then maybe the lawyer is the same person who said, "Hey KK, Priest need a new guitarist why don't you cry really loudly and see if you can shame them into inviting you back!"

I like Tony's grin in the pic, it's almost like he really did say it and was happy with himself :)

Happy 73rd to Pete Townshend. He may not have been metal but he was a brilliant musician sent nearly insane by his chosen career and he inspired many a metal muso.

Happy 69th to Dusty Hill of ZZ Top too. Again he might not be metal but he influenced a lot of metal heads and if nothing else ZZ Top deserve kudos for remaining the same three players for 48 years, something not many bands can lay claim too.

I say happy birthday to Phil Rudd too but he's probably too pissed and stoned to realise he had another birthday.

Yesterday was the 49th birthday of Tommy. I always wanted to be a Pinball Wizard!
Despite their earlier success the band was going down the drain in 1969 and the album was a huge risk for the band, even the record company didn't want then to do it but Pete was adamant the world needed a rock opera. Thank fuck he told them to where to go and wrote it anyway because it's a classic that helped pave the way for all sort of other bands to do epic albums.
