I think it's one of those things Iron Maiden didn't talk about much because it was uncool for a metal band to cover such an uncool band, especially in their formative years.
As you guys probably know, I'm a spotty Priest fan. So I have no real attachment to KK.. And thank god because he's really coming off like a whiny bitch.

Absolutely, there was nothing ever stopping KK from doing his own solo album. Maybe he just doesn't have as much in the tank as some people wish he did.To be fair the rest of the band ruled it out ages ago
I do like the bit where he talks about Rob releasing two albums and then someone asking him to write an EP. Rob might of left the band at that stage but something tells me KK was the one making it a competition. So what if Rob released two albums, he had a new band, new musos to write with and a different style. That first Fight album came out only months after he left JP, he was working his arse off, and he deserves the accolades it got it was a brilliant album. Maybe if KK had taken the initiative and done the same thing it wouldn't have been a fucking EP they were asking for.
And how fucking diplomatic of the guy not to mention how disrupted he felt but the other guys doing different things in his book. After all why mention it in a book and risk only a few people reading it when you can mention it to a journo and get it on the news feeds all over the place.
KK might once have been a good player and the the dual guitar attack of JP was always powerful but he's become a bitter old hag since he quit and realised the band could go on without him.
Yeah I think they both must have known what was coming especially if they are only 5 year old songs. This is the best outcome for a new album I can think of.He's back from the dead?
Oh I'll read the article.
If that bit about writing hundreds of songs 5 years ago is true I'd say both Mal and Angus knew the writing was on the wall even if they didn't know exactly how things would pan out. And if it's true I predict that it's going to be a very popular album.

I love how he keeps mentioning democracy and at the same time sounding like he's mad because things didn't go the way he wanted.
He absolutely sounds like a bitter hag. I'll bet we wouldn't be hearing much of anything from him if his golf course had succeeded.

Robs solo stuff is pretty good.I don't even know if there was anything stopping him doing a Priest album. Rob had left and they might have been down a singer but the rest of the band were still able to do something and when the time came they found a singer so I think KK is just clutching at straws because he was pissed that Rob's solo stuff was so popular without his superior guitar work.
I'm sure we are hearing most of this as publicity for the book, but you're right, if he was sitting back raking in the cash from other avenues he wouldn't be bitching about this. He was suppose to have a concert venue/pub/something open this year too, not sure if that tanked before it opened but he's obviously not busy there either.
Sounds like they can get a couple albums out of thisWell he was diagnosed with dementia before Rock Or Bust came out and that is pretty much a death sentence it's just a matter of how long it take. So I guess it wasn't hard to see the writing on the wall I'm just glad they did something about it.
It also makes sense that Brian is singing, the songs written 5 years ago would have been written with Brian in mind.

I agree but I am kind of biased, I met him and the boys when Fight toured here in '94
But what would be the real difference between another AC/DC album after this and Angus doing something else?In some ways I hope they don't. It's good to see Mal's legacy out there but I kind hope this is the last AC/DC album and they go out on a massive high.
