Classics Reborn

The guy quits the band because he can't get his way. He sells his rights. He bitches when they don't just put him in the role that was not his to begin with and now he wants to be inducted into the HOF. I think the HOF is an overblown wank-fest and the people who run it have no understand of metal in the first place, but I think KK making statements like that now even thought he was part of the band for so long reek of someone trying to hang on to the stardom he wanted to leave behind.

Judas Priest have a lot of good times in their career. Priest Live and Unleashed in the East were classic live shows. But it doesn't change the fact that KK is being a dick now days.

Wait until Little Angry starts head butting the speaker towers until his head bleeds and showing how aggressive Aussie pub rock is against all that hair metal :)

It's interesting to hear just how many overseas bands are influenced by the Tatts who never really tried to break the American market and didn't break the Euro market until about 10 years ago. The Angels had some success in the US in the 80's but they were always put on the wrong bill because they started out in the 60's a jug band so some dickhead promoter gave them their first support with a New Orleans jug band. Wasn't the most successful tour of their career :)

The only reason I know Rose Tattoo at all is because of GNR and when I did hear them they weren't what I thought they'd be. I didn't realize how far back they went so I think I was expecting a harder edge? Or maybe that's just what I heard because I looked at random songs. I've never heard of The Angels until just now. I know I know, full of surprises right?! :tickled:

The Tatts were harder live than any album could replicate. They played louder, they played faster and they played more aggressive than most bands of the 70's and 80's. Their gigs were rough and many of their gigs were populated by bikie gangs and often rival gangs. Angry was the sort of man who could tame those crowds. Their music was always rock, sometimes it edged towards heavy but when your playing it at 130dB and playing it like the studio version is played at 33rpm and live version is played at 45rpm it couldn't help but create a harder edge. Since they became huge at Wacken they have gone slightly heavier but their studio stuff is still nothing on their live stuff.

I'm not surprised that you haven't heard of the Angels, they wouldn't have toured the US since the mid 80's and they are rock. Despite sometimes being pushed towards hard rock they really are just an Aussie pub rock band. Loud, fast, and wild. The Angels also had a larger than life lead singer. He was one of the nicest blokes I've ever met. He was charismatic, he was larger than life and he knew exactly how to move a crowd. I've seen very few lead singers like him and I've met no one like him. His death was to the Australian music industry what Lemmy's death was to the metal world, the sort of guy who even if you didn't like his music you could see the impact he made on the industry and those in it.

It's really cool when a band is so bad ass that recording can't capture it. But sucks at the same time lol. Good on them for ruling the scene:headbang:

When did the singer from The Angels die?

2014 after a year and a bit battling a brain tumour. But he hadn't been in the band since his car accident in 1999 when the doctor told him if he kept performing he'd end up in a wheel chair. Seeing him in the last few years between his on going back injuries and his brain tumour was like watching a family member die.
