What are the thrash bands out there with the most melodic vocals? Original Anthrax is a good example of what I'm looking for.

In fact, if there's any metal outside the power/prog genres with clean/melodic vocals, I'd be interested.

(Not really thrash)

I do like Metallica and Megadeth--the only one of the Big Four that I'm not so keen on is Slayer. (Great band, I know, but I can't get into it.)

I do like that Death Angel and Dark Empire; that's some of the heaviest stuff I've heard with clean vocals. More of that plz? :D

It just sucks that I really like thrash guitars, drumming, etc., but can't get into the snarling.

I wish there were more metal genres besides power, prog, speed (which is now basically defunct and merged into power) and NWOBHM (also defunct, with modern bands of the style called power) with clean vocals. But basically these days clean vocals makes you power metal or prog metal. Sigh.

Like this Overkill band. This is awesome.

Dark Empire are really just thrashy power metal, occasionally VERY heavy, sometimes slightly progressive, but mostly just balls-out rocking.

Death Angel are pretty old school thrash. The Ultraviolence is their most well-known.

Metal Church were mentioned earlier. They fucking rule. Their first 2 (s/t and The Dark) are totally worth getting. Haven't heard their later stuff.

Vocals aren't clean on the second; a bit scratchy, but still some great singing.

Also, Testament, if that wasn't totally obvious. Practice What You Preach and The New Order are both quality. Haven't heard their earlier stuff.

(AWESOME solo)
Also, Into the Pit is fucking mandatory:

There's lots of good stuff in this thread. I don't think Artillery and Watchtower have been mentioned yet, though; you should definitely check them out.
