The sunrise doesn't necessarily require a highball glass; at least bars in Luxembourg serve it in regular glasses. But lots of ice is definitely important.

my local pub, and the nightclub have two different ways of doing it. My local doesnt use coke either (robbing bastards). But i think its less harsh and nicer with coke!

*NOTE* For those of you who use the metric system, a U.S. ounce is equal to 1.04 U.K. ounces or 29.6mL. And Lanterns is right about what kind of glasses to use. There aren't really any rules that say you have to use certain glasses for certain drinks, I just copied those recipies from my notebooks that had those particular glasses listed.

hm, i think, i´ll buy a bottle of kahlua today (i´ve got wodka at home) and mix some white russians on friday 
2 ounces of Vodka
1 ounce of Peach Schnapps
3 ounces of Peach Nectar
2 ounces of orange juice
a splash of fresh lemon juice
1 ounce of chilled Champagne
1. In blender, combine all ingredients, except Champagne, with 4 ounces of crushed ice.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Pour into a 12-16 ounce glass.
4. Top with Champagne.
