Compression pans my track

I have a really weird problem. If I use a compressor on a stereo track, the more I compress the track the more the track will be panned to the right. So if I have a lot of GR my track will be completely to the right.

Any ideas why it's doing this?

Is it set to split mono or something, instead of stereo?

Are you sure you're using a stereo compressor? Mono compressors tend to do just what you're describing.

Use a stereo compressor at the moment you are just compressing one side

I was using trackplug compressor and always thought it was stereo .

But anyway, I tried with a stereo compressor and the problem is gone.
