Concept Albums - What are your favorites?

Without thinking too much:
Dream Theater's - Scene from a Memory
Symphony X - V
Symphony X - Odyssey (for the Odyssey song, I know this doesn't count but I love it dammit!)
Amorphis - The Beginning of Times (does this count?)

In no particular order:

Morgana Lefay -- Maleficium
Morgana Lefay -- Grand Materia
Savatage -- Streets
Savatage -- Wake of Magellan
Symphony X -- V: The New Mythology Suite

Those are the ones that immediately come to mind. I am probably forgetting some.

My Top 5:

Savatage - Streets
Fates Warning - A Pleasant Shade of Gray
W.A.S.P. - The Crimson Idol
Avantasia - The Metal Opera 1 & 2
Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime

Lots of great choices but no mention of Rush 2112!!

Because it isn't a concept album. The second side has nothing to do with the concept.

I've got a lot that hasn't been mentioned, but I'll list them all.

Progressive Rock:
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick
Marillion - Misplaced Childhood
Kevin Gilbert - Shaming Of The True
Spock's Beard - Snow
Echolyn - Mai

Metal
Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
Savatage - Dead Winter Dead
Ayreon - The Final Experiment
Ayreon - Into The Electric Castle
Star One - S/T
Secret Sphere - A Time Never Come
Therion - Secret Of The Runes

Superior - Ultima Ratio

Somehow my favorite albums are concept albums. I think the greatest ones prove their worth in changing your mood and emotions while pulling you through the storyline. With that in mind, not listing much that hasn't already been mentioned, and admitting that the order after the first 3 change according to my :

#1 - Savatage - Streets. My favorite album of all time, concept or otherwise. Runs the gambit of agression, emotional music, amazing song writing, and a decent story. Still the pinnacle of music for me.

#2 - Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime. All together now: "Sweet Dreams. . . . . You bastard"

#3 - Sym X - V - The New Mythology Suite. I love Sym X, but I wish that they still were making music like this.

#4 - Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. "Seven Deadly Sins . . . "

#5 - Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle Earth. Reenergized the power metal genre.

#6 - Eternity X - The Edge. Songs like "Confession" run you through an emotional roller coaster.

#7 - Seventh Wonder - Mercy Falls. Catchy songs. Very catchy. Catchy enough to make my non-metal wife perk up and state that she likes it. Very rare.

#8 - Iced Earth - The Dark Saga. Barlow shines.

I love most of the other albums other people listed in this thread, but those are the ones that stand out for me.
