Could you help me choose a new mixer

Personally I don't use a mixer at all when tracking. Well I guess I do use the one in the interface...

Out of those three, I would go with the Yamaha. Never liked the Mackie VLZ pre-amps or sound that much and I have never used the Phonic.

The Yamaha has compressors and I would spring a bit more for the CX, so you get FX as well. Just adds more versatility. I like the Yamaha pre-amps and their build quality is top notch. The only thing I like better about the Mackie is the internal power supply, which means it uses a standard power cable. But for a studio I assume you don't move it much.

I would also look at the Allen & Heath Zed series. Great mixers and excellent Pre-amps and EQ. More expensive but still reasonable.

What type was the mixer that gave you the BOOM? You could sell it to Tad Donley!

Great idea! That way I'll have a bigger budget. :D

I'll have a look at those ZEDs then.
