Kings X???? Oh noooooooo! (World's Second Largest Kings X NON-fan here!! ;)

My vote is for either the Saga tune - Wind Him Up (great idea, Sean and Wilkie), any Kansas - especially The Wall or It's You - or for some lighter weight fun - Journey's Seperate Ways or Don't Stop Believin'. But hey, everyone, an instrumental would be OK - and Ted wouldn't sit it out - he plays guitar too!!! :)

Cheers!

Just thought of this, I've always wanted a rocking version of the tune "Linus and Lucy". This is the correct title of the song that everyone refers to as the Peanuts cartoon music. It is available (I think still in print) on Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas" CD (btw--a killer Jazz CD). I always thought Chris Squire could murder the "left hand" piano part, but in honor of Ed's b'day (on the other thread) and his request for cover suggestions, I add "Linus and Lucy to my "Grey Seal" cover pick...

You gotta listen to this track before you think I've gone completely nuts but...Off Seals and Crofts, Summer Breeze album, track #3, titled SAY. It's only like 2 minutes long, but a guitar solo could fix that, it's very proggy in a weird sorta way. Anybody heard this one???

Song For America - Kansas

It just seems so right.

I second that, along with "The Wall" and the Saga tune "Wind Him Up". You know that Ted would nail the vocals on the Kansas covers. I wonder if Mr. Ott plays the violin? Hmm... :loco:

Personally, though, I'd like to hear the guys also do a couple of things that you wouldn't expect them to do--you know, step outside the comfort zone a bit? In addition to the aforementioned, how about the following suggestions:

The Fixx - "One Thing Leads To Another"
A Flock Of Seagulls - "Space Age Love Song"
Yes - "Changes"
Asia - "One Step Closer"
Carl Orff - "Carmina Burana"
Rush - "The Body Electric"
ELP - "Pictures At An Exhibition", "Touch And Go"
Frankie Yankovic and his Yanks - "Too Fat Polka"

Ok, the last one was a joke. Or was it? :D

Muntz - they have already covered 'Changes' on the Yes tribute Cd....:loco:

Hiya Muntz....yep, they already did Changes...and although I could see them going for some of your interesting suggestions, esp Asia, Rush, ELP, even The Fixx (cool idea!!)...Orff's Carmina Burana is not one of them. That is an amazing song, but after seeing and hearing the full company (+/- 15 voices) of Trans-Siberian Orchestra doing it, I'm done. Their version is absolutely magnificent!

Cheers!

Sorry guys, I'm a newbie to Enchant. I guess I'm on the right track though...How about Triumph's "A World Of Fantasy" or David Bowie's "Cat People" instead? It would be interesting to hear the band's take on either of those.

I'd still really like to hear Ted belt out "I don't want her, you can have her, she's too fat for me" on the "Too Fat Polka". ;)

I'd love th hear that.
Be very interested to hear Ted go with some Rik Emmet tunes - that would be sweet.

How cool is this? As cool as it gets--Great band , Great fans--just remember, it doesn't take much imagination for a great prog band to cover a great prog tune. I know some of my suggestions were strange, but TAKE A CHANCE ON ME (oh my God, I've gone nutz--What band sang that one???). Ed, Grey Seal was built for you guys...I'd settle for "Happy Birthday to You" though--just do what you do so well...ROCK!!!

Actually it did take a lot of imagination but we have a lot of great ideas now for the future, we have been covering songs since the first tour in 93 with Jadis when we did not have enough material during a few encores and so on? So we are not too bad at this, and it is usually pretty interesting but fun.

Grey Seal is one the all time best songs ever and a great suggestion so you get ten points OK?

Hi! I am new to this Enchant forum! Nice to be here!

Personally I would like Enchant to cover Fates Warning´s "Chasing Time"; this song is one of my favorites both because of the beautiful music and the very sad lyrics, which I think would fit perfectly to the Enchant sound and lyrical expression...

Greetings from Denmark!
