Now's your chance to create your own fictional all-star band of the people who you want in it. Ignore any personal conflicts or whatever else these musicians may have. All we care about is the actual musician himself. The only rule is that you can't use a member from the same band twice (for example, you can't pick Romeo and Pinella since they're both from the same band. Only one choice is allowed.)

I'll start it off:

Singer: Mac (Threshold)
Guitarist: Michael Romeo (Symphony X)
Bassist: Jonas Reingold (Karmakanic)
Drummer: Ed Warby (Ayreon)
Keyboardist: Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater)

Oh and this one doesn't really count since I already used Ayreon but...

Manager/producer/writer/direction: Arjen Anthony Lucassen

EDIT: Please include the band name. I don't know half the people you're mentioning by name :(

I think you're rules make it so limited because honestly Symphony X is my dream band that has come true.

but I'll see what I can think of, how about 2 guitarists?

guitarist: Michael Romeo
2nd guitarst: Mikael Akerfeldt
bassist: victor wooten
drummer: Sean Reinert
Keyboardist: Enya

Geetar: Mike Akerfeldt
Drumms: Flo Mournier
Vocals: me
Bass: my sig says it all

^nah, it's just bass player. he may look like Martin, but it's not him. there's no explanation for that. just believe me.

Guitar: Michael Romeo
Drums: Mark Zonder
Vocals: Daniel Gildenlow
Keyboards: Michael Pinella
Bass: John Myung

vox - dan swano
guitar - trey azagthoth
bass - steve harris
drumz - chris adler

not really my dream band, it was off the top of my head, but it'd be something interesting to hear, haha

:OMG: chris adler is the motherfucking MAN. he's unreal.

i've seen lamb of god twice now and randy and his girlfriend stayed at my house when they visited the UK

Dream band?

Guitars: Jason Becker (as he was around 1988), Ron Jarzombek
Bass: Oliver Holzwarth
Drums: Asgeir Mickelson
Keys: do we really need them? Ok, Jens Johansson
Voc: with these guys? Let it be Buddy Lackey

Vocalist: David Gilmour (Pink Floyd)
Guitar: John Petrucci (Dream Theater)
Bass: Thomas Miller (Symphony X)
Keys: Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon)
Drums: Martín López (Opeth)

I wanted to put in David Gilmour for guitar instead of vox, but I realized he probably wouldn't do as well when this band has its metal moments (yeah, this is kind of an Ayreon-like thing that goes back and forth, the way I imagine it). And since I already put Miller from SymX on bass and López from Opeth on drums, the next best choice that came to mind was Petrucci. And back to Gilmour...these days his voice isn't exactly as strong as it used to be--but if you think back to how he sang around the time of The Wall, Momentary Lapse, Division Bell, and so on...this is kind of my way of getting away with putting Mikael Akerfeldt in the band without actually putting him in. ;)

Well, I guess I just thought with the Bass player / Opeth thing to the left, and then the guy looking like Martin and playing the same bass, that it was him. It appears I may have made an ass out of you and me, and I am sorry.
