Cubase 7 is released!

I can stomach the site of the mix window now! This actually may be worth considering for me as I'm on Pro Tools and our tracking studio runs Cubase.

shit gets worse and worse, first time i won't upgrade...well...at least until steinberg finds a way to force me to upgrade

I wonder if the Cubase 7 Vst Bridge now actually works. Would love to have a 64bit DAW. (And no i dont wanna use Jbridge :) )

Hmmm....that GUI looks kinda ugly.

I can't even watch the videos. It gets stuck at 0:15. Probably too much demand.

BTW, did you guys hear that Steinberg hired pretty much the entire UK R&D team behind Sibelius? They were let go by Avid in a stupid move to cut costs... Not sure what the future holds, but I see Cubase has a lot of "auto-composing" features announced in this release.

Shit, and I just bought recently bought Sibelius :P. Good for those guys, though. Fuck Avid for doing that. Don't really care about Cubase or any current Steinberg product myself, but as a composer that ex-Sibelius staff is an important group of people for me!

Hey no worries man! I just bought Sibelius 7 myself; figured it's the last version from those devs. When they release something new under Steinberg, I'm sure they'll have a nice cross-grade offer. And Cubase is supposed to be the leader in terms of MIDI sequencing, so they'll be able to pool-in a lot of knowledge!!

Also, I finally managed to see the videos on youtube, and I saw this:

I bet that thing drove a lot of the decisions behind the GUI, assuming it integrates nicely with Cubase 7.

Saw this earlier. Definitely looks nothing like the Cubase I used years ago, but definitely cool. Kinda reminds me of Pro Tools in a way, plus all the new features seem pretty bitchin.

so weird, literally last night before I went to bed I was curious to see if any news about 7 was out yet and then today they post all this haha.

there's some seriously cool new features, but good LORD is that mixer fucking hideous. like, seriously, I don't know if I can even live with that thing.

In august I upgraded to 6.5, and now I have to drop 150,- for an upgrade again?!

Still, it seems there are some awesome new features! Really curious on how that VST Connect works.
Have to say, the new features on the mixer look amazing and really usefull, don't like the gui of it, but atleast the features look nice!

Seriously? GUI scaling, plug-in search, track icons, customizable channel strip? I think already have it all in Reaper.
For 60 bucks.
I kinda like VariAudio, it's really convenient. And overall Steinberg's approach of putting everything you can ever possibly need in their product (great stock comps, verbs and other stuff, even AmpRack seems decent) is nice. However now they are even putting third-party plugs, i'm talking about Voxengo. What's up with that?

I don't like that mixer at all. I can understand that some people might like it but what I always liked about Cubase most was the nice and easy on the eyes looking mixer windows. They should include an option to switch between the old and the new mixer.
