Cubase 7 is released!

Just release PT 11 with 64bit support and be done with it. Watched the video of the mix window because the layout has always been bugging me in cubase, which i feel the PT layout is far more superior with the edit and mix window and has so much better overview then cubase has. Hopefully you guys can customize it but from that video it looks like a piece of crap. And that chord thing, yuck...

A lot of cool things, but a lot of really shitty pointless things. I like the look of the mixer, but the chord-track can go take a piss.

I think the Chord track is great. When I read tabs or standard notation chord names are of great help when learning the parts and personally when I tab songs I always include chord names, it's much easier getting a overview what the section is about that way.

This is something that I've kind of missed when working in Cubase. I come back to a song that I did a long time ago and have forgotten which exact chord or harmony I used there. A lot of minutes are saved with chords written out because I don't have to solo each track and find out what the notes are.

Dafuck?

I hate it.

What I like about Cubase is that I know it very well. This looks like they changed everything for the sake of it.

dafuck indeed
wuaaa, that new mixing window looks horrible :( :(
though i like the new Variaudio 2.0 and the chord-track feature, seems like to be really great.

hopefully it can be still turned back to the old mixer..

I think it looks awesome, albeit there's a little bit too much candy for me. The mixer stuff seems pretty amazing, it's actually one of my favourite things in Reaper, so it's cool to see it getting implemented. Also the metering and control room stuff is pretty big, could save a lot of time and simplement a lot of unnecessary stuff.

Interested in what Logic X eventually has to offer, I've been a bit bugged with some of it lately (mainly editing and some general workflow stuff), as I've been using PT and Reaper quite a bit.

Creating FX tracks from the mixer? Fuck yes. Will wait until the rest of my crowd updates but this looks pretty cool.

That'll definitely be a huge time-saver along with what seems to be an intuitive mixer(finally!!!); I just hope you can move channels freely in the mixer. There's just a few things I wish they would have added: Bounce in place for quick and easy printing of drum samples and whatnot. Tab to transients would have been nice because the currently implemented alt+N tab to detected hitpoints isn't worth the time (in my opionion). I would have also liked to have seen some sort of toggle-able grouping edit feature instead of having to move tracks into a folder for group editing. Other than my tiny gripes; I can not wait for Dec 5th!!!

god dammit I just bought Cubase 6.5 a few months ago. Now I'm going to have to upgrade soon!

Honestly that looks uncomfortable and too complicated to me. I've been using Cubase since forever and the main reason for that is that the GUI has been the same so I know how to work with it fast. Why change everything? Maybe they are targeting a new audience? Maybe they don't have any new features to present so this is the next move?

EDIT:
