edit: ...and to be honest, that was also kinda bad example because it was just helluva lot louder so it would seem "louder is better". And when listened at same volume (the latter 7dB quieter) I liked the original signal better because the mix with the glue was pumping really hard.

It's actually a very cool compressor. I've been using it for a while now.
