I've got Eternity right now...overall I find it very average. I'm sure they've got better albums...what do you recommend?

oki, most people will recommend Alternative 4.
if you want that RHsong you should but eternity, vocals are not good.
if you want a classic doomrelease go for Silent Enigma.
Altough, the last album is fantastic as well
my favourite is Judgement though

Y'know, Roy Harper's rendition of the poetry at the start seems WAAAY more half-arsed than the Anathema guys recital.

Hmmm...I think just from first impression I like the Anathema version better...the Anathema's guys voice just seems to have more 'Oomph'.
