I didn't see this mentioned here yet, so here it is!

Seriously, this is going to be amazing! Dan Swano is one of the best vocalists around, as you all know, but I just heard Magali Luyten (http://www.myspace.com/magali_luyten) for the first time recently, and she is killer!

FRAMESHIFT, the progressive rock/metal project led by Henning Pauly, has tapped Dan Swanö (NIGHTINGALE, ex-EDGE OF SANITY, BLOODBATH) from Sweden and Magali Luyten (VIRUS IV, BEAUTIFUL SIN, AYREON) from Belgium to sing on its upcoming third album, tentatively titled "The God Delusion".

Commented Pauly: "First of all, I am amazed at how many [singers] sent me their stuff [to be considered for the new FRAMESHIFT album] and even more at how many went through the trouble of writing and recording vocals for the test song I supplied. I heard some awesome singers and although some of them were phenomenal, they still didn't get chosen. They might ask themselves why. The only way I can say it is that I was looking for something different. I have worked with great metal vocalists some of the ones that applied are 'on par' with [James] LaBrie [DREAM THEATER], [Sebastian] Bach [ex-SKID ROW] and Roos, but since I have already worked with that type of vocal performance, I would like to go in a slightly different direction. In the end I found what I was looking for. I actually found a bit too much. I ended up with two vocalists and I could not make up my mind. So, we are embarking on a project that has not been done before. I will not go into detail on HOW the two vocalists will share their duties, but I can say that it will be very interesting and powerful."

FRAMESHIFT's first album, "Unweaving the Rainbow", was a concept album based on the work of Richard Dawkins, a scientist and writer, and features DREAM THEATER vocalist James LaBrie. The second concept album, "An Absence of Empathy", features Sebastian Bach and other musicians.
This is gonna be awesome!

I heard Magali was one of the singers on Ayreons new album, so i had to look up her band Beautiful Sin. I have listened to their album nonstop for a 2 weeks. She's an awosome singer !!
Yeah, same here. I heard her clip of the new Ayreon song and her performance gave me chills! So good. I've heard of Beautiful Sin, and have wanted the album, but it's one of those albums that is hard to find around here, so I've not heard it yet. I've only heard the songs on her MySpace page, as well as Beautiful Sin's and Virus IV's pages. I don't need a full album to know this woman can tear it up on the mic!

You know who she reminds me of? Sandra Nasic from Guano Apes. Very similar in style.

I'm so glad this has worked out. I'm not sure how it will sound like with Magali singing because I was really hoping it'd be just Dan, but I still have faith. White I absolutely love both Frameshift discs, something inside me says the new one with Dan is going to blow them both away.

Go Dan!

This will be cool, I hope Dan's voice will be on most of the album and not just 1 song.
I can't imagine this will be the case. I think he'll be all over the album. And I think with Magali singing, too, we're going to hear Dan in a very different light. Her voice is killer, but very different from Dan's vocals.

Of course, Dan's work on the latest Winds album—which I just got today—kind of surprised me! I'm not sure I've ever heard him get so heavy without going death metal. The breakdown in "The Grand Design" is pretty amazing! And the album is killer, too!

I’m stashed away, to waste away
I won’t be preying on your mind anymore
I will forgive, you will forget
What goes around will come around at the end

The most killer vocal performance of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
