Dark Tranquillity Song Survivor - round 13 / part 1

Sooo, here we go with the 13th instalment of the famed DT Song Survivor!

There are 38 songs remaining at this point, and with only a few exceptions, they are all at least very good songs. That means, even if there were any real differences in quality among the songs in the previous rounds, there are nigh none left here, only differences in taste. That being said, it would be most delightful (for me, at the very least), if each and every one of you could, if you are able, tell us what exactly made you choose the song you chose. I know that might be difficult at times, but please try! :Spin:

this was the hardest part for me. i voted off zodijackyl light because, despite being terrific in a live setting, on record i think it's just not as interesting as it could have been with less fragmentation of the verses and choruses. its rather "metallic" sounds tend to annoy me a little too, and the ending is a bit of a waste of time, what with the gong-sounds and all.

I put my vote on Shadow Duet because I like Fridén's singing much less than Stanne's. I don't like Shadow Duet, but it's not only Fridén's fault. That song just hasn't appealed to me.

this was difficult. i voted 'alone' because when i listen to skydancer i tend to ignore all the songs that aren't crimson winds, a bolt of blazing gold, shadow duet and through ebony archways. heh. what a reason. :Smug:

@cot: if i were rahvin, i'd subtly change your vote. this must be why i'll never be a moderator.

I voted for Final Resistance. I just find it to be very 'by-the-books'. Certainly not a bad song, imo, just not nearly as interesting as the other songs.

hmm... this is an extremely difficult choice.... UnDo Control ws never a favorite, but I think I'm going to need to take a few days and listen to all these songs a few times and really think about it...

I chose Zodijackyl Light much due to the same reasons as Rahvin, and also because I think ZL really ignores the IMHO essential "tranquil" side of DT - all the other songs in the list represent that side well.

Voted for The bolt of blazing cold. I don't know what it is, but this song just doesn't give me any reasons not to push the "skip"-button...

crimson winds. I really like the intro but then it´s by DT standards nothing special.

this took a while. and carl, i want to strangle you, shadow duet is my favorite DT song.
seriously, i can't relate to people who want to get rid of skydancer songs. not to mention the "blazing cold" thingy, that indeed froze me.

i chose ZL because i can't remember it all that well. closest rival was edenspring, which also is the only other song i could vote in the next round. then i'll just refuse, i can't seriously chuck stuff like the treason wall aside...

I ended up voting for rundown, although it was tough not to go for white noise black silence to keep zodijackyl light in for sure...
if zodijackyl light gets another vote, would a moderator please change my vote to wn/bs... I would wait to vote but I doubt I'll be around a computer much
