Dat snare tone

I dont know how many of you guys are Btbam fans, but im still in love with this album and the production.

Im hooked in particular to that snare tone. It sounds really aggressive with a lot of snap behind it. Anyone have any ideas as to how to achieve tone like that?

It almost sounds like a double mic'd snare with a lot of the bottom mic mixed in.

The room sound is a big part of that snare sound. It's tuned moderately low as well.

I would even go as far as saying Blake is the best drummer in the Progressive Metal genre

It does sound rather low tuned. I want to say at the points it sticks out the most, it's either rimshots entirely or a rimshot augment. I would love to know the mic combination.

Normal top and bottom mic setup. 57's also its almost all rimshots on the hard hits. Blake is a monster. Best drummer I have ever had the pleasure of sharing the stage with.
