dead meters in sonar 7

Whenever i use sonar with WDM drivers, all the meters stop working after less than a second of playback (except MIDI ones). Also mixdowns become very slow and MIDI playback misses notes. Has anyone else had this problem and/or knows of a solution?

This is on my laptop running vista and only using the onboard sound "card"

It'd be great to have a working mobile audio setup for time consuming drum editing and the like while i'm travelling, but using MME drivers seems to make the audio very unstable with lots of dropouts

Sonar barely worked on this laptop before, I installed ASIO4ALL and now it works fairly well, with the onboard soundcard - as well as I could hope. Apparently ASIO4ALL is not technically meant to be an upgrade or whatever but it helped a LOT for me. Try it out.

Thanks for the tip, i downloaded ASIO4ALL but i cant get it working, sonar just says "unable to open audio playback device" ASIO4ALL says that my outputs are "unavailabe". How did you set yours up?

AH fixed it, just had to turn off the MIDI output to wavetable and it works perfect. Thanks alot for suggesting it to me
