Last FM Just recommended me this band and I am very pleased. Where would one start with them? It played Individual Thought Patterns.

Individual Thought Patterns, Symbolic, and The Sound of Perseverance are, in my view, the only worthwhile - and, in fact, brilliant - releases from this band. Everything prior is rather standard death metal, id est, boring.

Spiritual Healing is the definitive Death album IMO.

Depends what you like. The Sound of Perseverance is my favorite because of a stellar vocal performance, and because there is a lot of emotion in the music. If you wants something technical and bad ass go for Human. Symbolic is like a non technical Sound of Perseverance, it's also really good.

I hate their early stuff though.

Leprosy and Scream Bloody Gore are my favs, but i think all thier albums are good.

Wow. I would have thought you had gotten into Death ages ago, seeing as to how they are easily one of the most well known death metal bands. Human is my personal favorite. I prefer their earlier stuff to their later stuff.
