I never really liked Chuck's vocals on anything haha... but you can get past them because the music is so awesome. ITP has hollow sounding vocals, mid pitch, kinda like lots of old school death metal. Symbolic has slightly higher pitched vocals with a lot more presence.

Well, comparing one of Death's album to another is impossible for me. Just like Opeth. But If it had to be chosen between two, then I'd go with Symbolic.

but if you want the best bass work on an extreme metal album buy individual...

...the fretless slides are awesome...and unique...

DeGiorgio also did great work on Quo Vadis Defiant Imagination - which is also a great death album, with excellant vocals.
