Deliberation

the video is a littel bit confused eller confusing:zombie:
I don´t like those effects that much and I cannot understand what it is about..actually I don´t understand what the lyrics of deliberation are about either...
I think "My Twin" video is more comercial and gives more impact than this one..this looks very underground stuff....
however it is suprising to see that the director had the same ideas about "katatonic" that me and Cis gathered for our amatorial - just -for- fun- video.
ah ah same images of Stockholm "city life", same cemetery, underground, etc. (well we also have "pendeltåget" and some images from Sollentuna/Solna/Upplands Väsby, plus telphone, cigarettes and so on..ha ha)
 
Being a video editing/post-guy myself I think this video is just "too much" in terms of effects usage. I can spot the plug-ins used in every scene and well, that's a bit too obvious for me.

I'd rather see a dark red/black, grim Sin City-like video with the same graphic design as the cover/website. Combined 2d/3d motion with ghastly cityscapes, graphic novel style design, skewed proportions/motion and keyed humans. THAT would have ruled.

I like it better than the My Twin vid- I think that it connects more with the scattering images that the band evokes in me when I listen to them, and that a storyline type video like the other one would also be redundant. I will say that I dont know what the monster-guy was about, and I did notice a certain "Ah-Ha" sort of feel to it in parts... all in all, I am impressed again-Cheerz, Katatonia!
 
It isn't a bad video, but not one of the best that I have seen.

Perhaps if the footage was edited tp match the music better, I would have been more satisfied. For example, the "In Fiction" video by ISIS is a good example of video matching audio...

Ahhh, me too! First year film production student, going to major in Editing for in years 2 and 3, although I've been editing since I was 13 (18 now)...I'd love to do a Katatonia music video...I just don't know which one :P

Well I there are a lot of places in the video from the cover art of TGCD and My Twin so I guess it has the same graphic design...though the color of the video is totally "Sounds of Decay"...

I agree with a lot of the people here when I say, it's a good video but it doesn't fit the song

Got mine in the mail today. No e-mail to say it was shipped (didn't get one with My Twin or TGCD either though)

The songs are pretty cool. The new version of In the White is .. odd .. sounds kinda like a nightmareish lullaby. Code Against the Code will need some more time to grow I think, but kicks ass. Very unusual, and (wonder if I'll be the only one to think so) in the first line of the song Jonas almost sounds like Peter Gabriel.

Peaceville also seem to be holding a competition to win a Blakkheim signature Mayones guitar. :rock:
 
I haven't yet my own copy of the new single and didn't watch the new clip, but heard something in the preview from the label and also joined the mailing list to win the competition, you never know - even if I don't play guitar and I'm always been too laaazy to start playing...
But that new song, 'Code against the code' sounds exactly great as the unreleased trax from the previous single... This is another song they should include in their live set, can't wait to hear it all!

I can't agree with you 100%... These sights are probably what you expect to see in katatonia video... well, maybe not in this particular song, but still... I think it would be very good, but I still don't understand what the hell that alien guy is doing there.
 
I was getting the feeling that guy tries to kill himself, and his body is used in the production of a cyborg. He tried to leave the life he was living, but instead is kept alive by machinery and has a much, much longer life expectancy.
 
But Deliberation guy acts much better, even if he's the same guy as in My Twin. Sometimes it looks like Paradoxile is right, but in the majority of shots seems it's not him for sure... Hmm, maybe two of them in the video? It's hard to say...
