Demo/ Promo cd question? (New to forum)

I've been on here for awhile, but never posted anything. I've checked out other forums before, but found that most of the people on here are practical and helpful when it comes to self-producing metal music. Just thought I'd get some opinions from you guys...

Currently have a band, and lost members due to their personal issues. So, at the moment the band is only me.. I have some songs written, and want to keep the momentum going, so I figured I'd put something out there as a one man project for now (drums are programmed in EZD, play gtr and bass equally well) and use that as bait to attract some new members. I figure that way people have no misunderstandings as to the style, as well as the technicality needed to pull it off. (I'm not saying we're Cynic, but alot of people can;t keep up)...plan on having this mixed/mastered professionally as well, but recording at home on my mac pro/logic setup..so cost isn't really the issue..

The question is, if you were in my shoes, would you:
A) Just put out a 2 song promo CD and give it out /get it out already
B) Put out something larger (3-4 song demo) that could be sold at gigs if a lineup was more solid...
C) Neither
D) Any variation in between, or another completely dif. idea.

I'd put out a 3-4 song demo that you post all over the internet for free and then maybe have a copy available to buy for people who like psychical copies.

Personally, I'm in a similar situation as you and I'm just going to record the entire album, put select songs on Myspace, etc and look for members. Then record vocals and put the album out.

I think 3-4 songs shows the true potential, just 2 may not.

To be honest if it's just demo's to get some more band members I wouldn't bother getting it professionally mastered or anything. Hell for that you can just use POD farm and EZD and be done with it. Get a myspace page up and add add add, burn some cheap cd's and write contact info on them, leave them with some info about you at a local rehearsal studio.

I think 3-4 songs is good but if its just to find interested people to join the band and later do a proper release then 2 songs should really suffice for people to get an idea of your sound.
