http://www.devolved.net/_files/technologies_mp3/devolved_supremacy.mp3So, I've been spinning this album on-and-off since I received it for review back in 2001, and it hit me today just how ridiculously under-rated this Australian technical death metal band are. Seriously, this comes across like an amalgamation of Fear Factory's syncopated riffage, Gojira's technicality and Meshuggah's convoluted song-structures, but wraps them all in a solid death metal core. And it came out in 2001, before anyone even knew who Gojira were.

Anyone else heard this and like it? Anyone want to hear them? Samples below:

Fallen Cities

They released another album in 2004, which I've yet to hear, but I'll probably order it when I get paid.

Been listening to these guys for a few years now, They have since relocated to the US actually and i think they have a new singer.

Just checked the official website, and you're right on both counts. Just listening to the new song demos with the new singer and guitarist on their Myspace site now...

Well, I think I prefer the old singer - the new guy's alright, but he sounds slightly less death metal and slightly more -core than the last fella. The songs are still pretty damned ace, though.
