Yes it's a Synapse 5.

whenever you feel like restringing have a look at Status Hotwire double-ball. very recommended. way better than the average LaBella.
p.s. I tried out a Synapse some time ago but it was terrible... maybe it was a B-stock or just an odd one. Will investigate again, as I am looking for a 5 string and been playing Steinberger's only for the last ten years or so.

Since I fucked with the tone stack, there's really no point in that. I just tested to switch back, and the result was....
Try the "Purge" model, and put some gain at 900Hz in the EQ section.
