digidesign eleven rack

Joey, have you considered contacting Line6 about custom shit n stuff?

My exact thoughts. As one of the truly vocal proponents for Line 6 gear and the fact that you have used it so frequently, you'd think that by now you would be in tight with them and have them looking to meet your needs since you essentially advertise your usage of their products with each release.

yeah, read into the flaws and faults and the fact that its actually impulse based, and ran away

WHY!?:hypno:
IR's are so much better than some pseudo cab-behaviour
emulating using equalizers and stuff.
just try an axe-fx and load some
user IR's from redwirez or recabinet into it!

cheers

I've found that the reamping process ultimately always seems to sort out the wheat from the chaff. The players who dig in and define their performance will sound great via anything, whereas others will muddle through and attempt to hide their playing with the tone. The PODs have traditionally been excellent for this.

Bingo.

Hey Joey, let me reamp one of your songs. I'll do it for free.

My friend bought the plugin version and I stopped by his place to check it out.
He loves it and he's the second person I know who's used it and claimed they sound more realistic than line 6 stuff.

However he used the rock kind of sound (for which it sounds pretty good) and paired it with his miced tube amp tracks. So basically he used it to clean out his sound a little since his amps are a little too saturated and gainy. The extra Eleven tracks gave the guitars more clarity.

I might pick up the rack down the road to be pro tools compatible.

There are so many more possibilities with real gear, you would get much closer to the final picture, much quicker, and most importantly: using less EQ to get there.

i currently use zero eq to get where i want
except for a low and high pass
and a nudge of mid range to make certain parts stick out in dense areas of the song

I agree with Joey that you don't need outside EQ with POD Farm. I'm of the opinion that if you can't get the tone you want with POD Farm (of course, assuming you're a fan of Line 6 tone anyway, obviously not everyone is) something is wrong, but it's tweakable enough that you should not have to resort to extra EQ-ing outside of what POD Farm offers to get a good sound out of it.
And honestly, with some stuff like 8505 for example, I've never need much EQ at all. I pretty much just remove about 2dB from around 800-900Hz each time I use it and maybe a boost at 2KHz (very tiny boost) but that's it really, and I'd say that's a pretty quick and easy process and after that it removes that annoying weird mid range that seems to be the result of it being a digital amp sim and it sounds great.
I'd imagine if one were to spend all day around amp sims as one would spend all day around real amps, they wouldn't be any slower or quicker to get to a good tone, all it is is that it's a different process and approach:)

Hey guys,

first post ever on this forum!

I have the use of an eleven rack and i've tried so much with it.
All their built in sounds are pretty horrible for heavier music.
I've IR'd a lot of the pre amp models they have there and it just sounds digital to me.
I'll post a mix in a few days and you can tell me what you think.

For a heavy tone there is just nothing that sounds good. Waste of money, doesnt let me run it at the same time as my 003 desk in pro tools (the fact that it is a pro tools hardware ruins everything unless its your only interface) PODFARM is the way to go for price and sound.

If on the other hand you want something for rock n roll or blues or whatever it would be useful! But then again If you're recording that kind of music you should just use microphones.

Who wants to buy mine off me? $500 + shipping from australia haha.

"Buy this off me!

Oh wait, don't.

Actually, do!"
